Public art is exactly that, art in public spaces. Public art can be temporary or permanent, large or small, abstract or representational. It can be a stand alone piece like a mural or sculpture, or it can be built into infrastructure like lamp posts, bridges or sewer covers.
Public art can express community values, enhance our environment, transform a landscape, heighten our awareness, or question our assumptions.

Wall Murals
Adding wall murals looks great. The white wall on Yong's beside the Memorial Garden Tree would be a good location.

I would like to see the green energy boxes throughout the town wrapped in an image of perhaps someone cycling or another type of image that reflects Halton Hills.

Nuit Blanche | Georgetown Style
Create a night time festival atmosphere celebrating the arts/artists of all types: visual, music, etc.

A dugout canoe
Fairy lake deserves a sculpture representing the traditions of its time and to continue into time. A birchbark canoe made from the very wood that stood there before would be a great example of historical art. Or how about a sculpture of the local astronaut Chris Hadfield and spacecraft's that are continuing our legacy such as Osires-REx. How about a walk of fame in Downtown Acton. With gold stars on the walls of local area shops recognizing the artists that started in Halton Hills. Support the local young artist by giving them a chance to bid through the school system on commissioned work for murals and sculptures. The dugout canoe can be a school project. The murals can be class projects. a wave of colours through the towns like ribbon connecting the great canadian path.

Expand "Light up the Hills" to allow artists to contribute. Could be lit displays, or booths for Christmas card sales as examples.
