Help us design the Rennie Street Park Improvements

The Town is planning improvements for Rennie Street Park to ensure that it meets the needs of the local community and promotes active living in a healthy, safe, inclusive, and sustainable environment.

Rennie Street Park is a 2-hectare (4.9-acre) neighbourhood park located at 32 Rennie Street in southeast Acton. The park offers a range of recreational services and amenities including a playground, an intermediate sized soccer field, open green space, seating, as well as access to the Rennie Woodlot Trail.

Construction complete for 2022!

The Recreation & Parks Department would like to thank you for your continued support for the park improvements for Rennie Street Park. This fall we have been able to complete most of the improvements, including:

  • The preparation of the new obstacle/challenge focused play area and half-court area.
  • The creation of the new pathway and installation of the bench seating
    • fitness signage at each of the new benches to be installed before end of 2022
  • The addition of an accessible ramp and new safety surfacing to the existing playground area
  • The addition of irrigation and players benches to the existing soccer field

What's Next?

Construction of this project is scheduled to continue in the spring of 2023. Items to be completed include:

  • The installation of the new equipment for the obstacle/challenge focused play area
  • Line painting for the half-court area and installation of the basketball net
  • The creation and installation of the shade areas
  • Planting of additional trees
  • A final clean-up and restoration of disturbed areas
