Trucking Strategy Study

Consultation has concluded

The Town of Halton Hills is undertaking this study to develop a long-term trucking strategy. The Trucking Strategy Study will explore opportunities to develop a more safe and efficient approach to managing trucking throughout the town to support economic and employment activities while balancing the impacts to quality of life for the community.

The Trucking Strategy will be developed to achieve the following objectives:

  • Develop a long-term strategy for safe and efficient truck routes while considering the road maintenance and safety needs of the Town
  • Identify transportation solutions and infrastructure improvements to support truck traffic
  • Explore opportunities for roads to safely accommodate all users and modes
  • Engage, consult and educate residents, businesses and other stakeholders.

Over the course of the study, the Town will consult and engage with residents, businesses and stakeholders to help identify the issues, opportunities and challenges associated with trucking in the community. The input that is gathered will help develop and evaluate solutions that could ultimately support the redirection of truck traffic away from our downtowns and urban areas.
