    Following the abundant input received through our public consultation process we have finalized the playground design to include the features and elements that you as a community have identified as priorities. Thank you again for your contributions and input!

    Based on your feedback the final design for the playground replacement at Morden Neilson Parkette will include;

    • 2 swings - 1 tot and 1 belt
    • The existing dinosaur climber
    • A stand 'n' spin motion event
    • A snake pole climber
    • A nectar the bee spring toy
    • A melody maker activity panel

    A new accessible ramp will be added to the playground area along with new engineered wood fibre safety surfacing.

    Here are the final playground renderings;
    The final design strikes a balance between, toddler, junior and senior user needs, offering a range of developmentally appropriate activities within the accessible structures.

    Through the public consultation there were some questions regarding the possibility of having larger park features such splash pad elements included as part of this project. Please note that the Town's standard is to include these larger park features within community level parks, where adequate facilities and infrastructure are available, and would not be considered for a park of this size.

    Our anticipated timeline is for playground replacement to be complete by Summer 2021.

    Thank you again for your continued support and feedback throughout this process.
