The Acton Youth Centre Project is a construction/renovation of the former firehall garage within the Acton Town Hall. The space fronting Bower Street will be transformed into a 2,900 sq. ft. youth centre to provide a variety of services for Acton youth.
The project will begin in early October 2020 and is anticipated to be completed in spring 2021.
Project update: February 2021
The construction of the new Acton Youth Centre is continuing on schedule to open in Spring 2021.As of February 23, the following works have been completed;
Primary electrical, plumbing and mechanical services are now in place, including the new rooftop HVAC unit installed by Heritage Acton
new windows are currently being put in place and the new front windows can now be seen from Bower St.
Drywall mostly complete for interior rooms
In the upcoming two weeks it is expected that door installations, interior painting and the new HVAC unit will be completed. This will be followed by the finished flooring, millwork installations and kitchen installations. Additionally, landscaping, IT installations, furnishings and equipment are all currently underway.
The current pandemic situation has presented different challenges but the construction team has been successful in keeping the project moving forward. As progress continues we will bring you more updates, as well as future announcements about a grand opening event in the spring.

Accessible washrooms and showers
Large communal kitchen
Landscaped exterior with seating area
The Acton branch of the Halton Hills Youth Centre, located at 47 Mill St. East, will continue to operate during the construction of the new centre.
