UPDATE: Staff prepared a final recommendation report based on the 40km/h Speed Limit Pilot Project and presented to Council on July 4, 2022. The report summarized the findings of the 40 km/h Pilot Project and outlined the Town's 40 km/h Speed Limit Area Policy. The final recommended report and attachments can be found in the document section of this project page. The 40 km/h Speed Limit Area Policy was approved by Halton Hills Council on July 4, 2022.

The Town of Halton Hills is developing a pilot project intended to test the implementation of 40km/h speed limit areas and its effectiveness in reducing speeding in both urban and rural residential sites. The goal of the 40km/h Speed Limit Pilot Project is to determine if 40km/h speed limits will have a positive impact on reducing overall speeds on our roadways in Halton Hills, both standalone and when combined with other intrusive and non-intrusive traffic calming measures.
